ASEAN Breastfeeding Forum 2017 was on full swing last August 3-5, 2017 at Blue Leaf Filipinas, as it celebrated breastfeeding and life around the world, advocating the global goal of “Sustaining Breastfeeding Together.” Numerous partnerships were at the forefront of connecting with one another to attract worldwide support on breastfeeding and the health of babies around the world.

#ASEANBFF2017 took this 3-day event with the theme “One Community Protecting, Promoting and Supporting Breastfeeding.” For the first two days, it assembled health experts from the 10 ASEAN Member States (AMS) – Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, People’s Democratic Republic of Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam at the Blue Leaf Filipinas, Paranaque City. They discussed and put a spotlight on the interventions, innovations, success and areas for improvement on financing, operating multi-sectoral collaboration and managing national programs on breastfeeding and complementary feeding in the ASEAN region.

On the third and last day, it concluded the event with Big Latch On 2017 at Smart Araneta Coliseum, an effort made possible through the partnership of Asean Breastfeeding Forum, the Philippine Department of Health and Breastfeeding Pinay. It was a big latch on movement gathering thousands of mothers as they breastfeed their children together for one minute in support to all breastfeeding moms, passionately driven to create a breastfeeding nation.
