Twenty years ago, POST AD stood in a rice field alongside Gov. LRay Villafuerte as he described a vision that seemed impossible at the time. On that very land, he saw a world-class wake park that would soon place Camarines Sur on the global map. Many of us struggled to imagine it. Yet within months, that vision (CWC) became reality.

That experience has stayed with us through the years because it taught us something important: “Visionary people often see opportunities long before everyone else does”. That same spirit of vision and possibility was on full display during the CamSur Uptown Investors Night held at Shangri-La The Fort in BGC last August 29, 2026.

The evening gathered an extraordinary roster of business leaders, bankers, developers, hospitality executives, retailers, and international investors who came to hear the vision behind what could become one of the most transformational developments in Camarines Sur's history. Among those present were DBP President and CEO Michael de Jesus, senior executives from BDO, LANDBANK, Marriott International, McDonald's, Starbucks, Watsons, Power Mac Center, Robinsons, SM Markets, Mr. DIY, Vingroup, and numerous Korean business leaders and investors.

During his presentation, Gov. Villafuerte outlined a vision that extends far beyond a single development project. CamSur Uptown is envisioned as a dynamic center where people can Live. Work. Thrive. A place where investment, innovation, commerce, tourism, technology, and public-private partnerships converge to create opportunities for generations to come.

One of the most encouraging sights throughout the evening was seeing respected private-sector leaders discussing future opportunities and collaboration around the project. Conversations between Alexander "Alex" Cruz of Xentro Group, Noel Ignacio of Green Xentro, major investors, banking executives, and industry leaders reflected the level of confidence being placed in the future of CamSur Uptown.

What impressed us most was not simply the scale of the project, but the caliber of people who took the time to be there. Some traveled from overseas. Others represented institutions that shape investment decisions on a national and international level. Their presence spoke volumes.

The truth is that every great transformation begins as an idea.

Before cities rise, they exist only on blueprints.

Before industries grow, they exist only in conversations.

Before opportunities become obvious, they exist only in vision.

Twenty years ago, we watched a seemingly impossible vision become reality. Last night reminded us that we may once again be standing at the beginning of something extraordinary.
