Serbisyong Tapat Para sa Lahat: A Day of Compassion and Care at PGH

In a moving display of public service and compassion, the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) opened its doors on September 13, 2025 for a special initiative titled “Serbisyong Tapat Para sa Lahat.” Spearheaded through the courtesy of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to celebrate his birthday, the event offered medical services to all patients, removing financial barriers to essential healthcare.

From registration to diagnosis and treatment, patients were stunned as they reached the cashier to find a balance of zero pesos—a moment that drew both surprise and tears of relief for many.

To further extend care beyond medical needs, foodcarts were set up around the hospital grounds, providing nourishment to patients and visitors throughout the day. Hospital staff and nurses were also honored for their tireless service with complimentary meals, recognizing their vital role in the nation’s healthcare system.

One of the most heartwarming moments took place at the children’s cancer ward, where beloved Filipino fast-food mascot Jollibee made a special appearance. Laughter filled the halls as children battling serious illnesses were treated to smiles, photo ops, and a joyful distraction from their daily struggles.
